The scientific journal ‘Proceedings of Southwest State University’ has been published by Southwest State University since 1997.

Until 2011, the journal had been published under the name ‘Proceedings of Kursk State Technical University" (ISSN 1991-0754). At the suggestion of research teams and Kursk State Technical University Senate, it was decided to start publishing a periodic scientific journal that provides sections on fundamental, humanitarian and applied sciences.

Due to the renaming of the founding university, since 2011 the journal ‘Proceedings of Kursk State Technical University’ has been published under the name ‘Proceedings of Southwest State University’. Meanwhile, the continuity of the editorial policy was fully preserved.

Since 2010 the journal is included in the list of peer-reviewed scientific journals and publications of State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles.
